Priming your Dispenser
Note: Priming is usually a first-time setup process used to remove air from the pump and feed tube. It is different from normal dispenser operation and may be required when the dispenser is first installed, refilled, or if the chamber has been emptied.
Follow the 4 easy steps below, or watch the online video for a demonstration.
Before you begin
- The pump and feed tube must be filled with liquid before the dispenser can operate normally.
- During priming, it is normal for no liquid to dispense initially.
- The priming process may need to be repeated several times, particularly when using thick liquids such as shampoo, conditioner, or hand soap.
Using thick liquids
If your product is very thick:
- Add a small amount of liquid and water to the empty chamber.
- Complete the priming process until liquid begins flowing from the pump.
- Refill the chamber with your normal product.
- Continue operating the dispenser until the diluted liquid/water mixture has been expelled and only the full-strength product is dispensing.
The priming process
1.

In
Push the pump button in.2.

On
With the pump button pushed in, place your finger over the spout of the pump to block airflow up into the pump. (This creates a partial vacuum in the chamber when the pump is released.)3.

Out
Keep your finger over the spout and release the button.4.

Off
Remove your finger from the spout and repeat these steps until you have a release of liquid when you pump.Note: Simply pressing the pump during as per normal operation is NOT the priming process. Priming is specifically intended to remove trapped air and establish liquid flow through the pump system.
